Alfred Lewis Mikula; October 26, 1940 - April 11, 2020

Alfred Lewis Mikula wa born in Victoria, Texas on October 26, 1940.  He passed away at Focused Care nursing facility April 11, 2020 in Houston, Texas as the age of 79.  Hw was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.  alfred was born to Helen Hosek and Afred Mikula.  He grew up on a family farm in Wood Hi, Texas with his two siblings: his twin sister Rosemary and his sister Lenora. He graduated from Victoria Hgh Shool in 1959, and attended Victoria Junior Colledge until he was drafted into the military.  He served in the Air Force as a B-52 Bomber mechanic stationed on Guam during the Vietnam War.  While in the Air Force, he met his future wife, Veronica Olsovsky at a polka dance in Victoria, Texas in early 1962.  They were married on June 27, 1964, in Victoria, Texas.  Upon leaving the Air Force, he was hired by IBM as Field Engineer, and moved to Houston, Texas in 1967.  There, he had a long and successful career and specialized in the repair of check sorting machines primarily for banks in downtown Houston.  Alfred is survided by his wife of 55 years, Veronica Mikula; his sisters, Rosemary Volkmer and Lenoria Martignoni; his children Karen Mikula, Alfred Mikula, Jr., John Chheng-Mikula, Daniel Mikula and Christine Benefiled; and 5 grandchildren.  Due to the circumstantces of the pandemic, a small private funeral service has been held at Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX   A memorial service will be held at a future date.
