James Norman Wallace

Date of Death: 10/01/1999

"Cause of Death: Liver Cancer, diagnosed only 34 days before his death.

James graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State at San Marcos), and continued his education by  receiving his Master's degree, majoring in History.  He met Mary (Mickey) Robson, who was the VHS girl's PE coach and Victoriadore sponsor, while James taught at Victoria High School.  They were married, have two children: James Scott and Stacy Christine Wallace.  James and Mickey have six grandchildren--two boys and four girls.  Scott has degree from the University of Texas, owning his own business in Houston;  Stacy is a Nurse Practioner at the University Hospital in in the San Antonio Medical Center's Neonatal Transplant unit.  Mickey, James' widow, lives in San Antonio in a Del Webb retirement neighborhood.

James was a Christian and a member of the Methodist Church all his life.  As a young man, he even did some lay preaching. He and Mickey lived most of their married life in Seabrook; with an office and warehouse in Houston.  He sold real estate, including shopping centers, brokered insurance, had a bottled water company and a bag manufacturing company, as well as a financial advisor to many.  He had many goals in his life, one of which was to make a million dollars by the time he was 30 years old.  This he did, but with much time and effort expended.  It  seemed that everything he touched turned to "gold".  He certainly  knew how to invest and to do it wisely.  James and Mickey never lived high "on the hog".  Their home was very nice-but modest compared to what they could afford.  He was always a cowboy and country boy at heart and couldn't  wait to retire to their 550 rance out side of Waelder, Texas.
