Laurence L. (Larry) Jones

 Lawrence Lloyd "Larry" Jones of Beeville passed away suddenly on December 4, 2010 from a brain hemorrhage.

He was preceded in death by this parents, Edward Lloyd and Mable Lucinda Jones; and two sisters, Dona (Joe) Lewis and Barbara (Dale) Sanders.

Larry is survived by Sandra Reed Jones, his wife of 50 years; his children, Kelli McGarey and Brad Jones of Austin; his grandchildren, William and Felicia Crossland, Clayton Jones, Callie McGarey, Tyler McGarey, Sierra Vela, and Blayne Jones; his great-grandson, Jaycee Crossland; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and other fmaily members and friends.

Larry was born on Janyary 22, 1941 in Midland, Michigan.  He and Sandy married on June 24, 1960, and spent most of their married years in South Texas.  He was employed with BD Holt as mechanic's helper in 1961 and retired as vice president of Energy Industries, a subsidiary of BD Holt in 1992.  Upon retirement from Engery Industries, Larry remained very active as an entrepreneur in many areas including an internet business, professional consulting services and training, electric vehichle design and development, and the family's ranch in Beeville where he raised longhorn cattle and minature donkeys and was an active member of the Texas Longhorn Association.

Sandy and Larry moved to their Lucky S & L Ranch full time in 2001, where they enjoyed their ranch lifestyle with their immediate families and many friends.

Larry was actively involved in the Bee County Wildlife Management Association, the Texas Organization of Wildlife Management Associations and the Coastal Bend Prescribed Burn Association.

Family and friends are invited to our Celebration of LIfe on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Faith LUtheran church, 1500 E. FM 351, in Beeville and /or Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, 2500 Earl Rudder Freeway and HIghway 6 in College Station, TX.
