James P. Waller IV

VICTORIA - James P. Waller IV was born in San Antonio, TX, January 30, 1940 to Jaes Pinkney Waller III and Marie Winklarek Waller.  He graduated from Victoria High School in 1959 and soon after entered the U.S. Marines.  He served 4 years, 6 months, ad received an Honoralbe Discharge.  He was member of the American Legion and the Marine Corp League.  He passed away February 24, 2018.  James retired from the Victoria Fire Department in 1998 as Captain.

James enjoyed canoeing, fishing, and camping.  He participated in the Texas Water Safari from  San Marcos to the coast.  In 2006, along with Norris Teague he sough to forma canoeing/kayaking club and water trail with easy access to the rier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lia Jane Hahn Waller; son, James (Butch) Waller V; brother Timothy Waller.  

Survivors: sisters, Betty (Red) Kirby of Blessing, Simone (Yves)Alart of France, Simone (Bob Ahrens) Tipton of Victoria and Celestine Merritt of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services wre held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetary (Red River and Main) with Rev. John Waak officiating.  NO FLOWERS, presence was all that was requested.
